On October 1, 2025, we are pleased to announce that the Korean Journal of Community Nutrition (KJCN) has been officially indexed in PubMed and PubMed Central (PMC). This is a significant achievement that reflects the journal’s commitment to academic rigor, publication ethics, and the advancement of community nutrition research on a global scale.
Since its launch in 1996, KJCN has steadily evolved in scope and quality. It was indexed in Chemical Abstracts and CAB Abstracts, selected as a candidate and later as an accredited journal in the Korea Citation Index (KCI), and more recently included in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) in July 2023 and Scopus in December 2023. Building on this progress, just two years later, KJCN has achieved another milestone—indexing in PubMed and PMC—gaining wider visibility and accessibility among scholars, healthcare professionals, and policymakers worldwide.
As the official journal of the Korean Society of Community Nutrition (KSCN), KJCN has aimed to serve as a scholarly platform dedicated to the study and promotion of nutrition in community settings. Our editorial board has consistently prioritized enhancing editorial standards by adopting international reporting guidelines (e.g., STROBE, PRISMA, CONSORT), strengthening peer review processes, and ensuring transparency and research ethics.
We extend our sincere gratitude to all the authors, reviewers, and editors who have contributed to the growth and improvement of the journal quality. We also thank the KSCN for its unwavering support.
Looking forward, KJCN is preparing to apply for inclusion in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI). We remain committed to increasing the journal’s academic impact and to advancing interdisciplinary research that addresses nutritional challenges at the community and population levels.
We appreciate your continued support and readership, and we invite researchers around the world to contribute to and engage with the KJCN.
