Congratulations! The Korean Journal of Community Nutrition (KJCN) has been accepted for indexing in SCOPUS. This news was communicated by the SCOPUS Title Evaluation Support team on December 23, 2023. This announcement was unexpected and almost surreal. Upon receiving this news, I immediately contacted Professor Taisun Hyun, who has been a long-standing Editor-in-Chief of the journal in the past and was the president of the Korean Society of Community Nutrition in 2022. Professor Hyun played a pivotal role in this achievement.
Since its inception in 1996, KJCN has consistently strived towards excellence, which has now culminated in its acceptance by SCOPUS. This accomplishment is a testament to the dedication of both, the current and past editorial board members. I would also like to extend my appreciation to the readers, authors, and reviewers of KJCN, whose support and contributions have been invaluable.
Further, KJCN’s prior inclusion into the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) also highlights our commitment to high-quality, open access community nutrition research. For further insight, we have compiled the chronological journey of KJCN, leading to its indexation in SCOPUS (Table 1). This could serve as a useful guide for other journal editors.
